I have always been intimidated by this type of work. The client who asks me for a certain portrait sees in that subject he has asked me to interpret, far beyond the somatic or anatomical features but a being to whom he can “entrust himself” and in whom he can “confide”. I cannot help but be deeply shocked by that client who, once he has received one of my works with this type of subject, tells me that from that moment onwards he feels like doing certain interactions, such as prayers, with my portrait close by or addressing them directly to him.
